Auditions for Whodunit? An Improvised Murder Mystery
This winter the CTC will present a new season of “Whodunit? An Improvised Murder Mystery”, and we now seeking the actors who will become the cast! Auditions will be held November 5 from 2 – 5 pm.
“Whodunit” will feature 5-7 improvisors creating a robust cast of characters and relationships, leading to a murder. Some aspects will be similar to last year’s production, and we’re excited to explore new twists and wrinkles to intensify the murder-mystery experience!
Anyone with 1 year of Improv experience is welcome to join this three-hour workshop-style audition! Actors with no improv experience are encouraged to request special permission to participate. You must register in advance in order to attend.
Please email Maggie Cady at cady@thecontemporarytheate
Rehearsals will begin in November with one or two rehearsals per week. This will transition to two-per-week in December, with obvious concessions for the Holiday Season.
In January rehearsals will intensify until the Jan 27 preview and Feb 3 opening, with one weekly rehearsal ongoing through the run of the show. Performers are permitted to miss one or two performances.
Auditions for Children for Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge
The Contemporary Theater Company is gearing up for our holiday production, Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge by Christopher Durang! Auditions will be Saturday, Nov 4 from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm.
We are looking for 3-6 children ages 8-14 for roles in the production.
For auditions, actors will be given sides to read with some direction from the director, Rebecca Magnotta, and should be prepared to sing a Christmas song acapella. To sign up for a 15 minute audition slot, please email Maggie Cady at cady@thecontemporarytheate
We’re excited to work with actors of all genders and races, so please come and audition!
*Note – the script uses humor to address some topics related toChristmastime stress. Mrs. Cratchit is a neglectful mother who wishes she didn’t have to deal with all her children, going so far as to try to drown herself (she is unsuccessful). It is all done with an eye toward humor and scores of children have enjoyed the show both as actors and audiences in the past, but we want you to be aware of topics that may arise.
