Auditions for Improvised Musical
Calling actors and improvisers alike! We are thrilled to announce our third full-length improvised show – this time, a musical, performing in October and November!
Our improvised musical will be a full-length play created on the spot each night with scenes, songs, and a strong story! We’re planning on exploring lots of different styles in our rehearsal process, from bright and cheery to dark and intense. Come have fun, explore, and bring to life a new musical with each show!
Director Chris Simpson and Musical Director Jean Maxon-Carpenter will host a Improvised Musical Workshop on Saturday, July 15 from 10 am – 5 pm at the CTC. The workshop is $20, and the fee is refunded if you audition for the show. It will teach skills and familiarize people with concepts relevant for the improvised musical, playing in October/November, covering both improvised narrative and improvised music skills!
Please email Maggie Cady at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up for the workshop and/or auditions!
This workshop is not a pre-requisite for auditioning, but is strongly encouraged!
You do not need improvising experience to audition, though acting and music experience will help significantly if you have never improvised. We highly recommend going to the workshop if you are in this boat!
Auditions will be Sunday, July 16 from 1 pm to 4 pm. You do not need to sign up in advance, but do need to be present for the entire time.
Performances in October and November – finalized dates will be announced before the auditions!
